You must check the customer's ID for all orders containing tobacco or other age-restricted products, if they look like they are under 25 years of age.
Does the customer look under 25?
The app will prompt you if the order contains an age-restricted item. If the customer looks under 25, you'll need to ask for a valid ID to prove that they are over 18. You can verify the customer age by checking their civil ID or driving license.
During the COVID-19 outbreak you should ask the customer to show you their ID at a distance so you can confirm their date of birth.
Is the customer over 18?
If they are - that's great! Just enter the date of birth on their ID in the app.
If they're under 18 or if they don’t have a valid ID you should not give them the age-restricted items. If they have other non-restricted items in their order, like a pizza and chicken wings, you can hand those other items over.
Once you’ve handed them their food, you should contact Rider Support who can advise you on what to do with the age-restricted item.
